Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)Under the UK General Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), we are required to undertake DPIAs to help us analyse, identify and minimise any data protection risks of our data processing activities. It is a key part of our accountability obligations and a legal requirement, particularly where something is likely to result in a high risk to the rights and freedoms of individuals. DPIAs increase awareness of privacy issues and data protection rights at the early stages allowing us to adopt a data protection by design approach. We will consider undertaking a DPIA for any new data processing activities we are considering or any changes to existing processes. If you would like a copy of a DPIA we’ve carried out, you can submit a request to our Quality and Governance Team, cbchealth.governance@nhs.net.
